Hi all, I'm just curious as to how i should go about replacing the front indicator/blinker bulbs. Do I have to remove the front bumper and take the headlight assembly off? It also seems I cannot get my hands to properly fit behind the assembly to be able to take the bulb out while the headlight is still attached to the car. Thanks in advance.
I've been looking for an answer to that for the last year myself. About the only helpful info I have found so far was the fact that the turn signal lamps (part of the headlight assembly) actually have TWO bulbs. There's a lower mounted bulb, which is easy to replace on either side of the vehicle, and a high mounted bulb. Passenger side one is difficult to replace but it can be done. The driver's side high mount turn signal bulb is the one I can't get my fat fingers around. I read a few posts that said you have to remove the front bumper and access the bulb from under the car but that sounds excessive for a light bulb. I spoke to a mechanic at the local Lexus dealership that mentioned removing the wiper fluid resevoir might provide enough space to get my hand in there. It would be nice if there was a needle nose plier that was skinny, long and had a 90 degree angle bend that i could use instead of my hand. The bad bulb is also causing the drivers side turn signal to fast flash but doesn't trigger the "light out" warning on the dash. Whichever way you go on the repair I wish you luck. If you want something closer to the headlight color (4300K) while you're changing them out I found some PolarG bulbs that were pretty close. The only thing I didn't like about them was the fact the bulb was blue in color and visible through the headlight lense pretty noticeably. Clean look when they're flashing though.
I'm surprised you own this car and live in Wisconsin. Can you drive it in the winter?
