Default Headlight replacement...(bumper remove)

Some of you may have read my other thread about a hazy looking headlight. Well I wet sand and buffed it with Meguire's Plastic X, but it doesn't look near as good as the newly replaced driver side.

So I bought a brand new HID version headlight with no ballast or bulb. I will be transfering my old unit's ballast and bulb to the new one. I'm guessing I will have to take off the bumper in order to do so. Does anyone know the steps to this process?

take off all the bottom screws (like 9 i think on the plastic part), take off the ones you see lining the top of the bumper where the grill sits on and then you can either remove the wheels and plastic liner to get to the last two bolts insdie the bumper (biggest pain ever). Youll n eed a long socket with an extension, i think its like an 8 or 10 or something. i havent done it in awhile. just go slow and take your time.

What a pain in the ***. Anything else I should be worried about, such as the self leveling? Do I just plug the socket into the leveling thing in back of the headlight? Thanks.

there was just a write up here somewhere with removal of lights and the bumper only had to be partially loosened, not removed.

here it is https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=174247

That is a great link. You dont have to remove the bumper to get to the bolts for the headlights. I did this 3 times and it works. I also did not loosen any of the bolts underneath the bumper. Just the ones in the wheel well and the ones in the front
