Oh this is getting crazy. I do not know what to believe any more. I had a car person friend of mine look at the problem and he thinks I did a good job trying to find the problem. He does not see anything else to do.
I called the dealership and they told me a couple of things. First they consider this a light and will not cover it under the extended warranty. When I tried to tell them this was not a wear and tear item like a bulb but probably wiring or some type of circuit issue they did not really care about my opinion. They were nice of course but said they would not cover it. They also did not have an explanation of how they knew replacing the light would fix it. In other words they told me that the fix would be a $600 light but did not let me know how they knew or how they did anything different. What they told me after I explained how I put in a new light and harness was to disconnect then reconnect the battery. this would reset the light and the problem would be fixed. Heheh. It did not. I tried a few different times. All I did was mess up the windows which I was able to reset.
I guess its going to go in for an appointment. I will research really hard about the extended warranty before I go. Thanks.
