Default Recommendations for painting calipers??

My GS calipers have that dull metal look to them and I really want to powder coat them but, don't want to deal with the pain of bleeding the breaks, etc. I was looking at some brush on systems and curious if people had good luck with them. Any other suggestions? I was either going red or black.

Post any pictures that you might have.

Thanks,
Todd

G2 caliper paint. Make sure to do plenty of light coats, work quickly, and be careful not to get that paint anywhere it's not supposed to..it doesn't come off easily!

Is G2 spray on or brush on? It sounds like it is spray on. Can you do it with the calipers/pads on the car or do you have to remove to paint? Where did you get the Lexus stickers? How durable are they with brake heat/dust, etc.?

Thanks,
Todd

i have said this a lot of times. high temp engine enamel spray is enough, others are just more money for nothing. the key is always about cleaning / prepping your calipers for paint. i did the calipers on my 2gs and lasted so many miles / years with zero issues. nothing more than normal wash

Brush, never removed the calipers, Lexus stickers ebay, and highly durable to brake heat and dust.

I found the Lexus logo's on ebay for $9 for all 4. My question is can you simply install the stickers once painted or do you really have to add a laquer clear to ensure they don't wear off?

For prep, I've done this a few times and hit the calipers with brake cleaner and a tooth brush to get any grit out of the corners, etc. Let it fully dry and tape off any areas you don't want to get touched by paint.

Like others have said, use high temp engine enamel after u paint with g2 paint and add the decals. I had mine for 1 year n its still good. Just make sure to spray multiple coats of engine enamel so the paint doesnt chip and so the decal doesnt fall off. Ive cleaned my painted and decaled calipers with wd40, just wipe w microfiber towel lightly.

K here how its done, take wheel off, get a carbunator cleaner from ure local auto store spray and wipe clean. After its all cleaned add the special mixer to the paint ( which is included with the paint kit) start by doing 1 full coat. Give at least an hour between coats when u have all three coats let it dry for an hour apply sticker and do 3 coats of clear coat, put wheels back and let it fully dry 24 hours.

I painted mine black just to tidy them up about 4 months ago. Today I received bright orange that I got off eBay I'm hoping to do them tomorrow but if not next weekend I will post pics as soon as I can

How far back on the calipers are you guys painting? I know on the front calipers, there is a notch with a rubber plug in it. Do you just paint over this orwhat? Seems near impossible to paint around it.

Any pictures that show how far back on each caliper you painted?

Thanks,
Todd
