stock rims do not come in staggered size. only way to get the staggered setup is aftermarket 18". you will need to spend money to get this look.

What about the IS setup? Isn't that staggered 18"? Not all that bold, but won't that work on the GS?

There are shops out there who will

A) stretch your wheels out, so it can fit wider tires.
B) cut the barrel (doesn't matter if your wheels are 3-piece or not) and reweld the barrel back for a wider wheel.

You also have the option of reverse stretching, corvette guys, srt-4 guys, and a lot of other high powered cars do the same thing to get more tire in the rear. It's not for looks, but functionality.

If you need to find a shop who will take your wheel and make it wider let me know, I can probably source up pictures of the process also, in case someone thinks it will not hold well.

I'm sorry for the late response Blacklexgs, I completely forgot my post in this thread, next time if i dont answer just PM my forgetful *** and i'll respond

http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/

They do wheel repairs, wheel stretching, etc etc. I have no idea on cost however.

They can even narrow down your wheels too.

I don't know how much it is locally to me, but there IS a local shop that does this, along with wheel repairs and etc.

Also some addition information, sorry for the double post.

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/for...s/10019/page1/

These are people who have experience with companies. Weldcraft seemes to have quoted one of them $200 each for a 3in additional wheel stretch.

Sometimes I get tired of 20's too. Then I'll take a ride in wifey's GS with 19's. Feels so much better. The car feels more tossable and confident with the 19's.
I'm not willing to give up the look and depth of 20's but I understand the feeling. It's not really the wheel size, it's the 245-30 front tires that's causing my problem. If I could do 245-35 with no rubbing, I'd jump right on it.

If you go back to stock just use a spacer and it will "look" like you have custom offset or staggered rims

lol ain't no worry about your "forgetful ***" haha I appreciate alot your infos!!
It seems like you are in FL I am from Cali but if it costs me $200 each wheel to expand it I think it's bit too much.. but still considerable thou..

Ice350
Yea 20"s definitely look better than 18 stock or most of 19"s out there but feel too heavy and not sporty enough for me (maybe cus 20" i had weren't forged or whatever lol) I actually thinking about getting a set of 19" but since my GS is everyday car for me I really don't wanna invest another grands of dollars for its shoes (I would love to though)

Passnu2
It's funny how I thought about putting wider tires in rear and then though about getting a set of 19"s and finally thought about getting spacers in the back but I have no idea about spacers AT ALL
I know the face that spacers would give longer space between the two rims but would it cause any issue?
I think it would look nice when you look at the car from behind like you got stagger set up but do I get better handling or something? Somebody tell me some infos on this one please (my car is on DF210 and hope no fender work requires )

well we usually spend 2k+ on a set of rims, you'll need a total of $400 for a staggered setup, that's not much, is it? That's pretty much the cost of repairing your wheels.

Ohh! And forged wheels are not lighter, they're in actuality MORE heavier, because you're compacting metal together, giving it more overall weight. If you want something sporty and lightweight, why not try gram lights?

There's a lot of selection there happy hunting

Just so happens there is a pic of my car in the wheel thread (towards the begging) were I am lowered on DF springs also and have my OEM winter set up (GSpyders) with spacers. I posted what spacers I used. I had no issues with that brand.

I would suggest to do this so it will "look" like you want and save up for some rims that you will really enjoy/appreciate.

As for how the car drives I never did test out the spacers since it was the winter months. I did test these out on my prior car and I could fee the difference on on/off ramps to my local expressway.

You can probably find these used in the classified section and save a few $$ also.

lol, you have no worries with your spacers, as long as you choose a proper company that sells good stuff. I wouldn't reccomend using your factory studs though....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uagmG...eature=related

Here this guy explains and reccomends what's the maximum wheel spacer you SHOULD be using on factory studs. But me being the worry wart, I'd just get some aftermarket wheel studs. ARP makes some wheel studs that are BUILT for racing apps, so with us using these wheels for a DD you'd have no problem whatsoever.

http://arp-bolts.com/

They also make studs for your engine also, so you have to look around a bit to the right page.

P.S. I checked ARP's catalog for the wheel studs, they don't seem to have our cars on there (if you were intersted anyways). You'll have to email them, they'll probably make you a nice custom set of wheel studs.
