Default VSC, Engine Light, Parking Light

Hey All,

This is my first time posting on this as I have some problems with my 2006 GS300 AWD

VSC, Engine Light, and Parking Light comes on

Had leaks in the muffler before the O2 sensors (towards the front), got it fixed but dealer still says there is minor leak still (therefore they are still registering the same code and thus the lights are on)

I'm not sure if the muffler leak is causing the problems....(according to the dealers it is but from one of my mechanic he said it is not)

Please let me know what you think or if you havec similar problems, thanks

Jeff

Do check your gas cap. Its common to have an older gas cap become leaky and cause this light issue. Search the forums about this.

I haven't done that yet...maybe I should check on that....how much would a new gas cap be on average?

$20-30. Some members have had luck with aftermarket ones, but a OEM shouldnt be too much more.

You should first go to an autozone or other auto parts place that does free error code readings and see what codes come up, the guys who had the gas cap fix do any of you know what codes you had this would help people out I know my code was P0420 it was my O2 sensors that needed to be changed

hey there, ya it was that code I think. I changed the fuel cap and the lights are still on. So it could be my "cat", manifold" or sensor

Well then it could be just u need to replace either one or two of the sensors, but first get em check out by a mechanic cause our cars actually have four

right now I wanna leave that on hold....'cause my car is buring oil fast!!!!

I've got oil change and put a bottle of lucas in there and about after a week or two it was about 1/4 below the "full line" and after putting in about a liter in about 3 weeks later it's close to the "low line"

wanna find out what is causing the consumption of the oil.....I dont' see any markings, or smell any burning.....

*sigh* I might have gotten a lemon car.....it drives well though but small problems here and there is starting to get to me

had this problem on my 06 gs430
i was getting check VSC throwing code . p0420
ended up being a bad catalytic converter, so they basically ordered me a new xpipe and it was all covered under warranty even though my car was out of warranty

the cats were extended to 7 year 80,000 mile i believe
