I was wondering if it worth it to buy invidia mid pipes. I bought the tte exaust system and haven't installed it yet. What benefit would I get if any if I bought the midpipes to go with it? =he car I have is te gs 300 awd and not the v8. Should I skip it or what?

 

My boy installed it on his IS 350 with HKS catback and it sounds great I have plans on getting it in the near future.

 

i have a buddy that has it, it sounds pretty good but kinda loud for my tastes

 

any kind of MPG or HP increase? and is the thing loud all the time even when like 70 on the freeway?

 

invidia midpipe is just to be considered as striaght pipe. the oem mid pipe is having two small catylitic converter and one small resonator where it cancells some waves and leaves the rest to the mufflers.
the aftermarket midpipes like invidia gets rid of the two cats which i think where you will get some HP gain and have straight big pipe instead of the small resonator
if you are installing it with a high flow mufflers like HKS hi-flow, then yeah its going to be loud. you will have no resonator at all in your system

 

I was going to get JUST the Invidia Midpipe by itself......
I'm still debating

 

The mid pipes are loud on the V8, and raspy on the V6.

And yes, as imadesign said, they cancel out the catalysts. However, the mid pipes do come with a resonator.

 

So basically not recommended for the v6 but for v8 it is ok?

Both cars have tanabe mufflers, but you get the point.

 

this is what im debating to do too, the midpipe itself with oem muffler.
im not a big fan of loud noise...but the raspy sound like old civic!!!no no no

yes i agree and invidia resonator looks like the first picture from inside, straight flow,
the OEM mid pipe resonator looks somehow like the second pic, neglecting the shape and design.

These cars won t sound like a civic with exhaust I ve seen several types of systems on these cars and they all sound throaty not loud and obnoxious similar to the G35 sound smooth and sporty.

 

so they make our cars sound like G35/37s?? this might be my next mod...

since they eliminate 2 cats, i assume it won't pass inspection tests so it'll have to be taken off and reinstalled everytime?

 

The sound is comprable to that of a G, it sounds good! Not like a k series with a straight pipe!

 

i'm gonna assume this will fit AWD since i'm also assuming the midpipes for AWD and RWD are the same.
