Don't mean to sound like a di@k but it seems like there are a lot of uninformed posters on this site. If you're looking for real, informed advice on oil, I'd recommend going to bobistheoilguy.com. Amsoil is the original synthetic motor oil; of course it's good stuff, but it's also expensive. As far as protection, many swear by German Castrol (GC) while others speak highly of Mobil One. Truth is, today, just about every manufacturer makes a good synthetic oil. It's more important that you use the correct viscosity and change your oil regularly and, arguably more importantly, change your filters. Today's oils last much longer than they used to, but filters still need changing, regardless of advances in technology.

The link BUYNOW posted ends with zo=1973595, which is likely his dealer id. That means if somebody clicks on that link and places an order, he'll collect commissions on that order.

I'd consider this as an advertisement.

After many hours of research for a cost analysis on changing out dino oil in CNC Machines to synthetic , Amsoil IS the top of the line. You will pay for it but it's protection plus especially in colder climates. And again change the filter as per Lexus 6 month requirement and the Amsoil after a year. ( or 25k miles ! )

I prefer the Castrol syn with titanium in the gold jug in my wife's GS350. Ran Mobile 1 EP last time and it was OK, but this Castrol has held up well with no additional oil needed going on 3,500 miles. I also use the Castrol in the green jug ,High mileage in the GS300 and 91 4runner.
