Question Question about Oil

I'm about to make a roadtrip with my car. I had my oil changed at Newport Lexus. I have no clue what they put in. I think on the papers it said 5w30. Well, my question is. Does it matter what brand I put in if oil would be needed?

No, so long as it meets the viscosity and quality specs in the manual, any oil will do.

Brands are not that different. Of course, some are of higher quality, but the oil viscosity will be the same.

It'll only last 5k miles anyways...

if you want to be 100% sure, just call your dealer and ask them if they put 5w20/5w30 oil in your car....then go to wal-mart to pick up a quart or two........either 5w20/5w30 are fine....

Always a good idea to carry extra oil in your trunk if your going on a road trip, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
