My left side started functioning correctly after 10k miles. Now it doesn't even go up or down. However, when i bring it to the dealer for maintenance it seems to work just fine for that first 1minute lol.

just make sure they document the issue in their records. this way if the problem comes and goes, and you are out of warranty, you have a record about it

How do you turn off the mirrors from going down in reverse?

its not the gears, its the electronics controlling the mirrors....sometimes i go reverse then drive about 3 times and never the right angle. If it was the gears then it would be consistent w/ the angles, but every time its kinda of a different angle....thats y changing the mirrors under warrinty doesnt solve the problem...Also once in a while it works perfect for a couple of days, go in reverse and both go down low evenly and return to the set angle after...For about 2 months my passenger mirror didnt work at all, then w/ no intervention it started working again...SOO, obviously not the gears, probably a computer gremelin, that lexus just wants to ignore...

funny, my friend took apart his mirror and replaced the plastic gears and everything works fine again. a partially stripped gear (common from wear) can create a lot of random scenarios.
