Agreed. No one needs some Paul Blart messsage board cop. If you don't like the subject don't post on it. Simple.

On the subject, this noise is quite loud with my car. I was actually pretty concerned and disappointed by it until I learned that this is just the way it is with this car.

If I have the radio off I can just sort of hear it at a stoplight. Where I really notice it is when I go to drivethroughs or driveups and it sort of echoes off the walls.

That's probably why you never really got to hear the ticking noise. My 07 GS 350 isn't too too bad but I can certainly hear it at slower speed, especially after cold start..
Yeah I was talking about my 06' GS 300 and the only time I heard the ticking sound was when I opened the hood.

I assumed the 2GR-FSE and 3GR-FSE sounded the same, I always kind of wondered what all the complaining about but perhaps there's no comparison.

It seems like a reasonable price to try, since the heat wrap will cost about $20 ..haha

Here are the part numbers ( #12606-38010 & 12605-38010). They even sent me a PDF of the LS fuel pump cover. One thing I'm confused is that the PDF shows 2 fuel pump on both sides of the engine. Anyone know anything about this? Attach is a the PDF.

If i don't hear back from 5000670 soon, i might just go ahead and buy it and give it a try.

BTW BinaryJay- Get a life and get out of your mom's basement for once. Always complaining about every damn post..
I'm excited. Please keep us posted and some installation pix would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I think this part is standard on our cars as well, guys. If you look at the parts diagram for the 3GS, it shows this part same as for the LS. Same part number even.

I keep mine in PWR mode and the car is much more responsive if you don t mind using more gas. the sounds doesn t bother me much either I also have exhaust and a L 7 in the trunk

Thanks for the reply CAK. After reading your post, I wanted to see if my fuel pump have those cover. peeped out my engine. looking at the diagram, my fuel pump look just like the picture... With out the covers. So i went to the link you provided and did a search. 2008 GS350 blah blah..

This time i notice the diagram showing a fuel pump without covers. Does this mean that from 2008-up, no covers were installed?? humm..

After some complaining, my wife was able to get Lexus service to install above stated covers. In our opinion, it might have helped about 10 to 15%. She is still not happy....ARGH

Sorry for the wait! I see that someone already went to dealer and got the part #. The numbers are right and that there are two pumps on the LS460. The part number that you will need is 12605-38010 and it is for the right side pump (passenger side). The GS300 and 350 have only one and thats located on the right side.

Alright Guys.

Just wanted to give an update on my experiment. I ordered the covers for my GS 350 and installed them. Installation was easy, just had to remove the intake hose going into the throttle body. I do notice a slight decrease in noise, but not much. I agree with Leonsup, its about 10-15%. So, if you're expecting a big decrease in noise, then this isl not what you're looking for. Overall, for $27, i think its worth the investment. It reduced the noise enough that i can barely hear the ticking noise inside my cabin. Here are some pics. Enjoy

No..While driving, my car is smooth and quite. It's when we're at a complete stop with the engine at idle, that's when I would hear it inside my cabin.
