After weeks of research and looking at the rim sticky 1000x The rims I want are front 20x8.5 offset +35 back 20x10 offset +40 with tire spec of front 245/35/20 and back 275/35/20. I would like to drop the car on top of the tires. Now will I have a hard time with the tires rubbing or do I have to roll the fenders? And will the tires come all the way to the edge of the rim for protection purposes? And I think the tires might be over spec I'm not sure but I hear a 35 series tire is better then a 30 for bad roads

 

The tires in the rear are going to rub I had this set up with my tsw exactly the same as this. The front will rub on the fender liner in the front also. You could go 225/35/20 in the front and that would clear better than a 245/35/20.

 

why do you want to run different diameter tire setup front and rear? 275/35/20, you are going to be 2" out of spec

 

weeks of searching didnt pay off too much. change those tires to the proper size. you will rub in the front with a 245/35/20

 

hmmmm this is confusing me now. what 35 series tire setup would work the best with these rims? and will the rim stick out more then the tire if the first number is lower then 245

i was looking at peewhy car. he says he is runing a 35 series and i kinda like the drop and the meat on his tires looks about right

 

ok i think i understnd what to are saying. im think a 245 wold look more like this= l where a smaller number would make the tire go= / i guess to clear the fenders better? but i still need you guys help because i want to know if its better if i run a 35 series tire with a lower first number or run a 30 series with a higer first number. my main concern is more protection and i dont want a tire so thin that im constantly putting air in my tires

 

Damn bro you have been guided in the right direction from several OG Club Lexus veterans and still don t get it? Run a 245/30-20 and a 285/25-20 your car will be in spec and you shouldn t have any issues I drive my car all over the damn place with way sketchier tire sizes then those and have no issues just pay attention to the road. bro i trust you 100% its my first time ridding on big rims. i came up from the honda game where i had 16in rims and fat tires i didnt have to worry about my rims or tires. i was just worried about when im on the highway and hitting an unavoidable hole or worrying about putting air in my tire every week since its my daily driver. i just had wanted to do it right the first time. and not worrying about being stranded (main reason why i bought the car) because roads around here look like construction sites

 

^ i believe the pic you saw, the guy is running 245/35/20 all around, which is the same set up i have. just like you, i wanted little more protection for my wheels despite the over specification. you will most likely have a rubbing issue when you turn ur wheels all the way with a mid drop, but it's not too bad.

even with my overspec tires, i still have tons of scratches from potholes, lol.. and slightly bent front wheel, but the tires still holding up.. i do drive extremely careful, but the road condition is just not forgiving.. so its really up to you, follow the correct tire size like mentioned above if you don't any rubbing issues.

 

ok ima run a 245/30-20 and a 285/25-20 so i can stay in spec. but the only concerns i have is will my tires blow out on the highway? because theres some holes that you dont see till its to late on the highway. and do air last a while in these tires? or do i have to fill them up with air every week? im new to this stuff so i want to know what im about to get into before i spend $3000

 

if you have low profile tires you have to pay attention to everything. highways i find arent usually that bad. i drove from philly to staten island last year with my wheels and didnt have a problem.

air pressure will hold just like any other tire.

 

If you hit a hole big enough to damage your wheel with a 30 series 9xs out of 10 it would have damaged it with the 35 series as well. Also just because the tire is thinner doesn t mean it loses air faster they hold air just like any other tire, be sure you transfer your tpms of you ll be posting another thread on how to turn the lights off on your dash ( btw there is no way besides using sensors)

 

in theory, 35 profile tires give more protection. but in reality, if you hit something that can kill the tire / wheel in a 30 profile combo, having a 35 profile tire probably won't save you that much more

 

I sleep on it guys and I'm going with the 20in rim setup. Now the only problem is the back tire. I don't mind the 30 series in the front but I may have a problem with the 25 in the back. Is there a way I can put a 30 series tire in the rear that won't mess up the front because my car is awd. (you gotta pay to play)
