Default engine coolant & trans oil temp on high speeds.

good day everyone.
engine and trans temperature just started to worry me after 5 yrs of high way driving.
i've been monitoring the vehicle performance charts lately using toyota techstream

a week ago engine coolant temperature reached 110 c while cruising on the motorway on my commute to work 250-270km/h for 50 mins, the worrying thing is that engine, trans temperature reached 110, 120c respectively , which i guess is really hot and over operating temp.

few days ago i installed a trans cooler, and it brought the figures down to ( 107 a/t, 105 engine coolant) that's for steady state cruising at 250km/h but when u go upt0 270 , both get up to 110 and stays there..

but again, any cruising under 220km/h would get all of them in the mid upper 90's. and top 80's for lower than 180. which is totally normal. what worries me is the high speed cruising temps.

the repair manual doesnt say anything about optimum or safe operating temperature for both. all it says is that the sensors are capable of reading 140 tops.

tried few commutes without the thermostat but the coolant temp oscillated like crazy , on low speeds (< 180km/h) the coolant temp was 83, on high speeds the temp got up to 110 so easy and i think would go up higher.

so does anyone no whats the max operating temp for both, my manual is 2006, anyone have access to toyota tis can easly get it for us, it might be updated there..

ive been driving the car like this for 5 years ( 250k km on the clock) on daily bassis , and changed every single part in the car except the trans and engine are still intact, and i guess that's what toyota stand for, engine and trans reliability, only, nothing else

yeah and one thing that keeps worried and looking at the tpms for the whole commute, the tire behind the driver always has a higher temperature than others, on that high speed all of them would stay at 60 c except the one behind me is 72, i changed the tires and wheels locations but had no luck, that positions still fires 72c on any wheel or tire, which narrows the problem to drive shaft , cause i suspected the bearing flange and replaced it but still the problem exists ..

forgot to mention that ambient temperature here is around 45 degrees Celsius. and sun is more directed towards earth in this spot. Saudi Arabia

one last thing is, does any one have the .cuw calibration files to update the car ecu's, or can get it from anywhere.

lexus gs430 2006, 250k km on the clock, two propellers shafts, three compressors and all suspension parts, bushings, bearings are changed on regular basis. everything fails at 90k km, thats how toyota engineered their cars, only to sustain 90k km under endurance loads,, then u have to pay around 11k to restore it again

thanks for reading

You drive to work going 250 km/h? That's over 150 mph... unless this is some kind of mistake, I really doubt Lexus built these cars to sustain that kind of use.

I've never driven mine past 150 kph for any amount of time, and even then, just short periods of overtaking somebody or onramps... 150 kph is enough to have your car taken away and license revoked on the spot if you're caught here so I just don't do it (and don't feel the need).

I suppose you guys don't have much speed enforcement and big straight empty roads that you can do whatever you like on, though.

If the car isn't complaining throwing error codes or behaving badly I would guess that it is fine, though obviously you are likely reducing the life of the components and should probably be replacing the fluids twice as often as standard.

seriously, how are you even able to reach those speeds when the 06 430s are limited to 149mph/240kmh???

true its limited but limts vary by versions ,middle east and european ver are limtied at 269,, mine is limited at 269km/h, then the butterfly valve shuts the air off.
tried so bad to remove the limiter, ordered some fake Chinese chips and they all didnt work.. if the car had no speed limiter it would do 280 easily at 4666 rpm or so on sixth gear.

he might need some spark plugs,,

so anyone knows anything abt the maximum opt temp.

there are highways where u cant go over 120, but my route is saudi-Kuwaiti international highway, its a free highway, barely seeing a car every two mins.

well, its a free country , free motorways, today i checked the total distance and total time after dtc was cleared and it showed the dtc was cleared 4221 km , 2801 minutes ago.

which avergaes around 90km/h including stops and warming up in the morning,,

the truth is, i feel way safer in driving in those free highways than driving under 120km/h in the states.
