I am trying to order the ashtray/lighter replacement tray so I can store my sunglasses, but there doesn't seem to be a US.part number fore kt. Carson indicates it as a Japan part, but Sewell lists it without. Anyone have any ideas?

Use the overhead compartment. I could never justify spending $200+ on a felt lined tray

 

I ordered it from Sewell with no problems.

If you have Lexus Link there is no overhead compartment.

You will like it. It is leather lined. It is a great place for sunglasses.

 

Wow, you know you have some serious money when it becomes a necessity to buy a $200 leather lined tray for your sunglasses...especially when the car comes with a factory overhead tray with thin foam padding in it....

 

My car doesn't have that. It has Lexus link. Thus the add on.

 

It's a nice OEM replacement part. I don't smoke and found the ashtray/cigarette lighter ridiculous, best $250 I've spent for that car.

It's pretty easy to install yourself. Dealer wanted to charge me $100 to install it.

Obviously you don't read. As mentioned three times previously on this thread, people who have Lexus Link don't have a factory overhead tray.

It is a sign of the age of this model though that they couldn't accomodate both lexus link and a sunglasses compartment. Hopefully the new, darth vader-esque GS will have both.

 

can we see what the final product looks like?? Sounds interesting, because that compartment seems too small
