Im not sure if something is wrong, or if its the way Im driving, but my gas mileage sucks!
Mixed driving highway 40% and city 60%.
My computer says Im getting 11.1 L/100km = 21.19 mpg, but it lies.
When I crunch the numbers (70 liters = 554 km) = 12.64 L/100km = 18.61mpg
100% stock, 300 AWD, 100,000 km (62,000mi), proper psi in tires, 91 octane gas, synthetic blend oil every 5000km, clean air filter and just had injector flush done and new plugs put in.
It seems like after I did the flush and new plugs my mpg went slighty down also!?
Any suggestion of what I can do? is there something im missing here.
Tried the PWR mode after reading a thread that it helped mpg but made mine way worse, briefly tried SNOW mode but find it too annoying to have to push the button everytime I start the car. Between the insurance and gas money I put into this thing, Im starting to seriously debate if I can afford it anymore.
$90 ($1.26ish/L) of gas to get 550 km sounds ridiculous to me.
Ummmmm I am getting 11 MPG, 2007 AWD GS350 new plugs, new filter, synthetic oil, etc etc etc. Its all about where you are located, and how heavy you are on the gas pedal. I live in NYC so when i see it says 18MPG city, I look at it more like 10MPG city. If you car drives smooth, normally, cranks from 1 start, doesnt have white or black smoke coming from exhaust pipes then you don't have much to do.
Depends on how you drive it. My best tank thus far has been 28.6 MPG's (almost all highway) and my worst has been 20.2 MPG's (mostly city and agressive driving).

Your driving a 450H, we get considerably higher mpg than the 350 and 460.

Wouldn't you always have white smoke coming from the exhaust pipes when it's cold out? Wouldn't it be a better test to see if you are losing coolant or oil by checking the levels on these?

Hello All,
I just purchased my 2007 GS450h this past Wednesday. I have yet to get an MPG reading over 23.0 MPG. Can someone let me know if my settings are correct?
Should I be hitting the hybrid switch? What does that do anyway?
Thanks and any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am happy to be a part of such a group!

are you guys referring to your mpg as what the car tells you it is or what you have calculated using fuel used and distance traveled?
because my car display always tells me my mpg - l/100km is higher then it really is.
im not driving aggressive at all, rpm never over 3000 on highway or 2500 on city roads.
that 18.6 mpg was a better then average tank since it was mostly highway, and i dont understand how doing an injector flush and new plugs would make your gas mileage WORSE.
i bought the car with an understanding that i would be getting 21-22-23 mpg which i would be okay with, now dissapointed that im getting more like 16-17-18.
even when i fill the tank up now it always says something like "520 km to empty" (even though thats never right) when before it used to be in around around "600 km to empty"
Great numbers i wish I got those I get around 13.5mpg city and 21mpg on highway when I try to use in winter, In summer I get 18-19mpg in city and 23.5mpg on highway. I wonder the same thing if the dealer planted something in the car so when you drive it looks great on gas but hocus pocus magic and you get a car with worse gas miles.
my #s are according to the trip computer. i just put in 9 gallons into my tank the other day. i wrote down the # of gallons and the odometer at the time. we'll see what the actual mpg is.
