Default Clicking noise....

I noticed my 07 gs350 makes somewhat of a clicking noise either from the motor or tranny when the car is on. Is this normal. It's like a low clicking noise. Kinda like an electric clicking noise. Isn't my car suppose to be completely quiet? I hope this helps. Please leave your feed back.

This is normal due to the Direct Injection. No worries.

DIRECT INJECTION is working, when you won't hear that noise you got a big problem. Yes it is annoying and abnormal but its normal. So don't worry about it once you won't hear it then yea be scared.

My theory is that it's a vacuum switching valve because my non-DI XRS with the 2ZZ-GE engine sounded exactly the same.

This phenomenon is so well documented both here and elsewhere, I don't see how anyone can begin to debate this.

OP, this is the sound a healthy DI engine makes, whether it's from Toyota/Lexus, Audi/Porsche/VW, GM, Ford, Nissan, etc.. It's the price of admission for V-8 power coupled with great fuel economy.

A friend of my dads is a certified Lexus tech and he told me that noise is the mechanical fuel pump or something like that so DI is what it is I'm guessing haha

Must be a different clicking sound then.

The OP has a GS350, which has DI. Which produces clicking sound. Sound is known to be disconcerting to those unaccustomed to it.

Sounds like DI is the most likely answer the the OP's question, wouldn't you say.
