"Cricket" noise coming from engine compartment of my IS350
Ok,here's a new one. Heard a "chirping cricket" noise tonight in my garage. After exhausting every source, I discovered the noise was coming from my engine bay. I have never heard this noise before. It sounds exactly like a cricket, and it is still doing it 3 hours after I arrived home.It is NOT a cricket(I know,my first guess too),but it sounds very similar to the sound a cricket makes. It is a random pattern, with the noise occurring approximately every 5 seconds. It is not the humming sound these things make either. This is a noise I've never heard before. My car is a '16 IS350F with approx. 12,500 miles.Any guesses??

No,as I said in my post it's not a cricket. The car was in my garage, with the ignition off. Heard it immediately, and 3 hours later it is still doing it. I even started the car and turned it off.....still doing it.

Any chance you can post a clip of the noise?

Its a 2016. NEVER heard this before, and my car is garaged so I would've heard it before. Not a mechanical sound IMO. Gotta be electrically generated. Just wondering what the heck it is....

its still doing even after couple hours ? wow that's weird, my friend Turbo Eagle Talon doing this for around 5 mins right after turn off STOP the car, my Supercharge Solara only do this for 10-15 seconds and the hissing sound when the car is cold, i didn't bother for 10 years. We don't know why ! bring it to dealer and show them the video too. Don't guess, i don't think anyone would know, this sounds like an OLD Engine in the 80s 90s. that 2JZ supra engine does the same lol
