You mean 06 GS430 vs 07 GS350 ?
There's no 07 GS430.
My pick would be GS350.

Actually there is an 07 GS430. GS460 was launched in 2008 model year. However 07 GS430s are very rare because the GS350 was too close in performance and killed GS430 sales.

0-60 is same, but 60-120 GS430 is much faster.

New car depreciation on the 3GS is horrible from my experience. Best bang for the buck would definitely be the GS350. There are 07 GS430's out there but they are very few and rare. As far as 60-120, the GS430 is not that much faster than a GS350. The GS430 runs out of breath when you're trying to go from 60 to 120 pretty quick. GS460 on the other hand, that's a different story.

I am just curious about longevity, which one will hold up better with less cost of ownership over 150,000-200,000 miles

i might have to say the 430. it doesn't have direct injection. while no one will know until much much later, but over time direct injection can introduce clogging in the lines. just my 2 cents, again no one knows until another 4-5 years i guess

but the 430 doesn't have close to as good of gas mileage of newer setup, so that's a toss

More fuel efficient V6 would be easier to sell I think, V8 will probably hold up better for reasons rominl described. Net that across higher fuel costs.

If you actually have option to buy either one as an 07, I would go and have a look, and buy whichever one feels and drives better. If you are asking theoretically, then good luck trying to find an 07 GS430!

I have the 2007 GS350 with about 60k miles. The V6 has plenty of get up and go and is a great long distance cruiser with a good mpg.

I recently had this same problem, which to go with? I ended up going with the V8 and i'm quite happy with it. The sound of the engine and exhaust note puts a big grin on my face whenever i open it up. Plus I drive a Lexus V8 so i am inherently a badass. If it's the same price and you don't mind the mpg (i don't) you'll be happier with the 430.

The growl from the V8 is enough on it's own to swing the favour towards the 430 for me. Just can't compare the feel of a V6 to a V8.
