Default 2011 GS350 AWD vs RX350 AWD

Hi everyone, I'm going to need your assistance...

I'm getting out of my ES350 and can't decide to get the RX350 or GS350 at this point. Both cars are AWD and the price point are similar ~50K - my thoughts so far:

RX350
(+) new more modern design
(+) sits higher, better view of the road
(-) I DON'T like remote touch
(-) I DON'T like the poor quality (and lack of) leather in the car

GS350 AWD
(+) more power
(+) more features for the price
(-) final year of model before redesign; but I may or may not like the new design, who knows
(-) no Mark Levinson in the one I'm getting

The only things I'd miss going from my ES350 UL to any one of these cars is my Mark Lev. system and that neat panoramic roof.

I'm still undecided right now some inputs from the members would help me greatly narrow my choice

thanks all

IMO.. if i was a family man, i'd get the RX. I agree with you on the Remote touch though and it feels like a minivan to me. If not, the GS would suit me just fine. i love my GS, but it does lack space compared to the ES and RX. I'm a little worried about the GS AWD though, with all this hype about snow we will be getting.

make sure you check out the back seats and trunk space on the gs if you need space.

Default Gs 350 AWD

The wife and I had requested an RX 350 for a loaner a couple of times just to see if we would like it, and you know what? It was just tooo trucky for me. Know what I mean? It's a beautiful vehicle, but it's still an SUV, and if that's what you want, go for it. I think the size is perfect for that kind of vehicle, but we just bought a 2010 GS350 AWD and love it. Perfect mix of comfort and sport. Plus, my wife's IS250 AWD has been great in snow and ice, so I expect no less from the GS AWD.
It really comes down to the utility question.

Good luck!

We have both. I prefer my GS hands down, my wife feels the same about her RX. HER Golden Retriever will never see the inside of my GS, but doesn't care - it loves the RX. Groceries, Costo, and Home Depot all favor the RX - I wouldn't contend with any of their parking lots in my GS. For practicality, it's the RX, for driving enjoyment, well, you know...

l would go with the the GS350 AWD. The RX is a great vehicle as well but, I'm not really a truck person. I heard the ES line would soon offer AWD as well.

If you need room, get the RX. The 3GS trunk is pretty much a joke.

I have 2008 GS350, drove the 2010/2011 RX several times.

I say go for RX. Love the car. A lot more truck space like the van, handle and accelerate like a sedan..

i have been driving the rx350, actually will be for another week

it's nice, great improvement from last gen. but fun factor is next to zero compared to the gs350. imho the gs350 accelerates and handles far better. but really the cars are for different reasons, so it's hard to compare

If you have kids the RX will be more practical...if no kids and no reason for the large cargo space then I would get the GS. Im not a fan of SUV's unless you get a true sports one that will handle similar to a car.
