Airfreshener compartment?
My coworker saw my air freshener in my cupholder and said that his friends IS has a air freshener compartment in the glovebox. does this apply to 3rd gen GS' as well...or am i going to have my registration paperwork smelling like squash

Its not an airfreshener compartment in the glove box, its an a/c filter compartment. You can go in glove box, and remove old filter and add a new filter.
I personally don't bother with airfreshener. I use a carbon infused airfilter which removes odors and leaves the car smelling unscented. Then I use Zaino leather in a bottle to keep the leather conditioned and smelling of leather.
