Engine power decrease after dealer cleaned throttle body
The dealer recommended throttle body and fuel injection cleaning when doing my 35K service. They also did the valve springs under the recall at the same time. Technician notes indicated "adjusted throttle body sensor"...that concerned me but I didn't say anything. Driving home, I noticed decrease in power and torque unlike before when throttle response was effortless. My rpm at high speeds are lower now than they used to be. I'm getting excuses from the service guy, but I took the car in today so we will see what they say. Do you guys have any idea what might have caused this issue?
My rpm at high speeds are lower now than they used to be
Your RPM in relation to speed is strictly related to the tranny. So, if your RPM was at 2k before to sustain 80MPH @ 302HP, it will still spin at 2k even if it only makes 200HP. If anything, it'd spin faster because the computer tells it downshift to 5th gear due to the loss of power...but, I really doubt your car lost that much power.

My RPM was 2.5K before to sustain 80MPH, and now at the same speed RPM is now 2.2K. Why the drop? It's not so much about losing power, but the torque is not the same as before...the car is not downshifting soon enough.

Unless they messed with your tranny, this is NOT possible.
Sounds like a better fuel saver, 2.5k vs 2.2k rpms. Also i would think something was wrong with you car that u required extra 300 rpm to maintain 80mph's. So if anything this is all good.
By the way, what procedure did the dealership use to clean the throttle body exactly? Was it a manual cleaning or some kind of induction service? What did you pay?
