Default Need help with a lower molding?

I got home earlier today, and noticed the passenger front lower molding was loose. It started from the back 3 clips loose, and I tried to push it back, but it just came off in my hands.

1. Do I need to order Part #3 from the attached photo?
2. How do I remove the existing clips that are still on the door?

Not sure if thats all I'll need, but anyway help out here.

Thanks

do you still have your warranty?

if so, stick it back on there, and tell em it's starting to fall off. they will replace it.

do you see any clips broken?

the plastic clips are supposed to be on the molding. you broke them all off. to fix this remove the clips by sliding each one either left or right with force till you feel it click. works as a locking mechanism. after removal, glue them back on to the molding. each one must be placed in the right spot.

Not under warranty, and I figure I'd try it myself.

There were already 3-4 clips that the glue came off the molding itself, and I guess through time the rest started to give. I got lucky it came apart in my garage in my hand, then on the road.

All the clips are still on the car, so all I would need is to glue this back on and then click all the clips back onto the door?
What type of glue should I get that will hold?

Thanks

No can do, I just checked looking up close, and seems the molding and the clips broke already.

I ordered a new one that should come in by this weekend.

Now here's another stupid question.

I took ALL the clips off with exception to the most front and back ones.
The other ones took a bit of pushing but slid off, but the front and back ones slide in opposite directions from each other.

How the heck do you install the new one if they slide opposite from each other?

Can anyone provide a quick how to, I just can't seem to visualize the installation at this moment. LOL

Thanks

you have to remove those little white clips that are still on the door and slide them back on to the molding. after you glue the molding back together of course. once all the white clips are back on the molding. align them to the holes on the door and snap it back in. gorilla super glue works well

WHat do you use to get the white clips that are still on the door off? I got the new one in, and trying to get the white clips off now, and they seem to be a push in type, but what about existing ones on the door?

THanks

any follow up with this issue? I'm in the same boat, I'm having a problem with removing the white clips in the door. Do I need to take the door apart in order to get the white clips out?

Me too . I got a big scratch on it. So, I ordered the part for mylexpart. I talked to the sales man, He said just pull them out and it will snap off. It will be a great help if someone with experience can give me some guidance how to replace it.

So, I have these smiliar tools to help me get the white clips off my car. (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053) I used the 3rd one from the left (I guess it is flat head plier) to pull the tip of the white clip, then once the white clip is half way out, I used the needle nose help the white clip out completely. The whole process of pulling the molding and get the white clips off took me like 10 mins. Now, I just wait for my new molding get here from mylexpart then I can put it back on.

My freaking dealership was going to charge me $150 for the part (cost me $102 on mylexpart with free shipping) and $140 for labor. Which only like 15 mins of labor at most.

I will post the final pic once completed.

Took 2 seconds to snap it back in once i got the part. Just make sure the white clips align with the holes and just push it back in. Note: make sure you remove the sticky tapes at each end of the car because the new one came with them. I save myself $140 labor that only took 15 mins at most.

How'd you get free shipping and how long did it take to ship?
