Default Squealling brakes??

Guys I'm having some squealing brake pad issues on my 07 350AWD. The squeal occurs when i brake very slowly. Most times when i'm navigating through a residential area and approaching my destination.
I took it in to pohanka lexus here in V, and they did the TSB on it. The first time, it continued to squeal, so i took it back a second time and they apparently redid it. It still squeals. The rep told me point blank that some other guy has been in for the same issue 12 times and still no fix. He thinks aftermarket rotors and pads will fix it.
I tried the akebono pads, but they still do the same thing. I am going to try the original super duster pads to see if that helps. Anyone have any recommendations. Before i go forking out money for new rotors, i want to be sure that the squeal will go.

Thanks all.

i had the same issue on my last gs350 - i installed new pads (ceramic pads) and the squeal went away for about 20-25kk miles. The squeal came back - so I had to take the rotor in to autozone and have them machine it again. I also had to grab course sand paper and grind down my brake pads a bit, since the pads and rotors were glazed.

The ceramic pads are harder than normal pads, and they take the vibration of the brake system out of audible range (i imagine dolphins and bats are the only ones who can hear the brake squeal on ceramic setups).

You could upgrade to ceramic pads, but it's still not squeal proof. I went back to stock pads. It's dusty, but it grips really, really well compared to ceramic pads... It does squeal about 10-15k miles after re-finishing the surfaces, but realistically, I don't mind refinishing the surfaces that often, as it renews braking performance anyway.

I bought in my car for the TSIB a long time ago and it was silent for about 10k miles, then the squeals came back - Squeals are just a sign of need for brake maintenance for me.

I am using stock, super dusty pads with the silicon glue on the back of it and in between the shims, seems to do the trick.

After reading member's experiences on this forum, i knew exactly the roller coaster ride i was in for if i took my car in to the dealer. I was not prepared to go through that.... so at 6000 miles, my brakes started squeeling and kept getting worse.

I just went ahead and invested in a set of after market drilled rotors and stock pads.

Its all good now.

Thanks designo. Do you know if there are any after market drilled rotors for GS 350 AWD?

So i decided to order the stop tech power drilled rotors for my 07 GS 350. I am going to run them with stock pads and see how that goes.

i had that same problem. squealing breaks. the best way to fix it is to put some lubricant on the shims i think that should fix your problem.. i took it to lexus and thats what they did and it hasnt mad noise ever since. hope you fix your problem..

Our dealership has just one philosophy.. which is "replace".. easiest and most profitable way.
