I know this has probably been talked about before but I continue to get crap from people as to why there is a tape deck in a 2009 Lexus.....

 

Because old people drive them and old people have beloved tapes... who knows, I'm no fan of it either.

 

I like that answer....i might have to start telling people that too.

Yup, old man's car, old men use tapes. As opposed to Scion's. Demographics usually are teenagers and young adults. They have mp3 capabilities way earlier cause that's what they grew up with.

 

I use a Philips tape adapter to listen to my Ipod.

 

Let the tape deck be exhibit A of proof that Lexus is not doing their homework.

 

Good place to store a pen, crayons if you have kids. Didn't somebody take an old cassette tape (with tape cut out), drill a hole near the end and mount their Garmin to it? slide the tape into the deck. doesnt quite go in all the way but serves as a pretty solid easy in and out mount for aftermarket GPS. maybe I dreamed it. Couldn't find it on search.

 

i do see some people using that as "storage clip" to hold business cards and such. creative huh
