Over there they put Mini Disc players in instead of tape players.....
.....which are even more useless than tape players LOL because Mini Discs are so hard to find these days and you can't use an adapter to create a line in like you can with a tape deck.

 

another useless medium in this day and age well atleast its not an 8track

 

i use mine every time im in my car. no seriously. since i cant find an ipod kit i use a cheap 99 cent tape adapter and play my music.

 

Nice try . Not that CD disks did not become more popular than C tapes in Japan back 24-25 years ago. Found the tape deck a complete relic already in 2GS.
For old folks Lexus could have sold an adapter for tapes, not the other way round.....

 

Tape decks are left in our cars because these cars are driven by older drivers who may still have some music on tape. I am in my 30's and still have hundreds of house music mix tapes from the DJ days. Man I even still have Vinyl......a lot of vinyl

 

Same here. 5$ ipod/mp3 solution.
hell no i aint paying over 5$ for a conversion/ipod kit.

plus ipod has the worst sound quality IMHO

cowon i9 sounds great with the jet effect through my mark levinson

 

It sounds a whole lot better with a proper adapter.

 

Does the 2010 model not come with a tape deck anymore? Since 06-09 GS had them

Looks like it is replaced by a well concealed box of small rocks to create rattle sounds.

 

You know.... I'm not convinced about this "old people" marketing campaign. Seems like the audience is more "young professional". Regardless the tape deck doesn't bother me too much but obviously they were either really trying too hard to earn retro credibility or drinking too much Cutty Sark!

 

oh i thought it's known already that on the 2010, no more tape deck. that area is just empty now

tape deck for old folks that's definitely not a reason to fly. if so, missing it in the ls460 would have been a tremendous failure
