I have a 08 AWD GS, i've been lowered on Tanabe NF's for about a year and a half now. My tires are wearing quick and I'm getting tire of the vibration and wobble at take off. Has anyone thought of going back to stock height for the smooth ride again? I really love the look of it, looks 10x better, I just hate the side effects of AWD lowered when I have co-workers and family in the car. Feels like my Pontiac did lowered. I only have about 15K on my tires, 245-35-20 and they are already getting worn, i hear them loud when driving and vribrations from the steering wheel. Does this have to do with me usually driving with 3-4 people in the car, so the wear is faster, the back looks really low with 2 people plus the lowering springs. What are your thoughts? Especially you AWD guys that have lowered.
i dnt have a 3GS but a 2GS...i thought about this but i like the way it looks too much, if the tires and wobble?? bother you that much i guess just weigh your pros and cons..its true you gots ta "pay to play"
i think about it all the time, especially when I have people in my car asking why the car vibrates and wobbles. I went back to stock once but had to put everything back on a few days later as I couldn't stand looking at the AWD 4X4 stance.
Its sad that I enjoy driving my wife's IS250 or my Accord beater. I'm going to probably give this another year or so, or when I burn out my tires and just get rid of the car and upgrade to an CPO LS460.
I go through the same things, if you don't get someone that really appreciates modding, they always ask, why is the car vibrating or is your tire flat, cause they hear the wobble. It looks beautiful lowered, just not sure anymore about the comfort, its still a 50K car, I don't want to feel funny driving it. I usually drive with people in my car, which makes it appear lower, LOL. I dunno..
I have admit I have thought about changing back to stock height because my baby girl is on the way. I dont want to jostle her with every bump but the look is so appealing it makes it a very hard decision. I have changed my tires to Michelin Pilot sport AS plus and have gotten amazing tread wear out of them. I am 12k and I havent even flipped them yet. My old crappy Falkens, Nittos, or even Toyos would wear out at 12 after having the tires flipped at 7k miles.
With the AWD I can imagine going back to stock because of the annoying vibration. My good friend Adan had a dropped AWD and has dealt with it better than I think I would have been able to
I'll probably just keep it lowered and buy new tires after the wedding in 6 monthes. The car looks to nice with a drop. Next time around, maybe on the 4th Gens, I'll definitely get the RWD one so I don't have to deal with all these wobble/vibrations.
I just cant take the stock look of AWD GS. Especially the front, just plain ugly. If I had an AWD, I'd rather deal with vibrations then have the 4x4 look. Everytime I see one here in NY, I just want to look elsewhere for a moment lol
