Question GS vs Toyota Avalon

A fridn of mine was telling me that the TOyota Avalon and Lexus GS are basically the same vehicles...despite the difference in awd and power output...????

Avalon isn't the Toyota version of the GS, it's FWD etc. etc. Pretty much completely different.

Your friend is just being a wad.....

GS and Avalon are completely different, the Avalon is based on a stretched Camry platform and built in America for America only.

The two could not be more different.

if anything can be compared to a lexus its the camry and the es. the avalon is not a gs.

Yeah. Honda is a lot more guilty of sticking an Acura logo on a Honda model and selling it for more than Toyota is of this kind of practice. Personally, I would buy an Acura mower if they offered it with leather grips and extra chrome.

We have the Avalon here in the Gulf too.. we also have the Aurion, which is a more sportier toyota.

this guy is always givin me crap about Lexus...he prefers Honda/Acura however he drives a 2003 Ford Escort ZX2 so he has no room to talk about any kind of vehicles.

There is no help for him, nothing I can say or prescribe, can help him.

I don't think you should renew his friend license.

Show him pics of this and ask where is the V-8 or V-10 Acura

I believe the ES is based on the Avalon chassis, the GS is definitely a standalone chassis and not based on anything Toyota.
