Default Headlights Paranoia

OK, wanted to know if this was just happening to me. Last month someone asked me if my car was running because the lights were still on. The car was parked and off for about 20 minutes. When I go to my car, the lights are on. I turn the car on and off and still they would not turn off. I turned the car on again, let it run for a couple of minutes. Turned it off and the lights finally turned off. This has happened three times since.

Remember when you first got your car and you would look back to make sure the lights turned off? Well I now have to do that after having the car for almost five years. It is a 06 GS300.

I am also having issues with my drivers side light going out when I am driving. Turning them off and back on resolves it for a while. Do not know if this has something to do with it. Any suggestions?

when that happens, maybe you can check and see if the "door open" light on the dash is on. some people have mentioned that here the latch (say on driver door) is not sensing correctly, thinking that the door is not completely shut and thus not turning off the light

The dealer can change the behavior to turn off the lights immediately, I think.

^ Yep they can. Mine turns off as soon as I open my door. Will opt for the 30 sec option soon.

If you press lock on the remote twice it should turn off the headlights...

This way you dont have to guess if it will turn off or not after 30 seconds...
