Exclamation DIY for Cabin A/C Air Filter!!

Is there a DIY for the cabin A/C air filter for how to change and replace it if so where is it located tried searching for it. Thanks in advance

did you look in the FAQ thread? I posted a link in there that will reference what needs to be done. Its also in the owners manual. Very easy to do.

There were at least three theads about air filter just in the last month. Try searching again, but this time make sure you use Advanced Search and select to search just this forum.

Just make sure you set the controls to "recirculate mode" before you do anything. Don't force it open or you will be in for a costly repair.

let the dealership do it....they break it...they pay to fix it. i'll never mess with that DIY. I'll buy the filter from somewhere else, but I will not be on the hook for $1500 for forgetting to push a button.

haha well that's why all the warnings here in this thread

i learned the details when reading a thread in the ls460 forum. basically if you don't put it in CIR mode, the trap door is closed. if you force it, you will break one of the gear right the way and i believe it won't shut anymore. well, that will apparently trigger a light to come on on the dash from time to time, annoying.

i asked about the repair, technically, you just need to repair that one gear / bearing, but to get to that, you will have to pretty much take apart the most part of the dash, so i guess labor is what kills it...

Put a warning for what ? I did not tell him to do it himself, i just gave him instructions... Its not hard at all...

There is nothing to warn people to put it in recirculate mode before performing those steps. I believe that exact instruction sheet was the cause of at least a few $1500 repairs.
