Default 07 GS 350 Navigation override

I do not know if my navigation is 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation.

I read here to do:
1) Press Menu
2) Press Volume on the Nav screen
3) Press the "speaker" picture on the top left screen
4) Press the bottom left corner of the screen (it's blank, nothing there)
5) Repeat steps 3 & 4
6) A screen should now Appear w/ several functions
7) Find the "Override" button and hold until you hear a "beep"
8) The Override button letters should now be in black as the others are white
9) Press the Back button and you are ready to go!

but there is no "navigation screen" on my GS.
Is there a way to override it when I am on a trip without buying a kit?
Thanks.

first off 07+ is 5th gen navi

secondly this does not work with the 5th gen navis, only the 4th gen in the 06's

Thank you. At least I now know what generation it is.

Is there a way on a 5th gen navigation system to deactivate the controls that limit my passenger from using the GPS while I am driving?

Thank you.

Search is your friend. Search for "navi override". There have been multiple threads discussing two available solutions: one involves cutting wires and installing a switch; the other is purchasing and installing a $300 plug-and-play kit from Prestigious Society. I just purchased identical Japan-made kit on Ebay for $245.

you can cut wires and put in a switch, but likely with a time limit. or you can get the prestigious kit

even in the older cars, that finger dance at the top of this thread only works if the nav dvd hasn't been updated past v 5. I have the PS kit now

How can Lexus be so stupid. This is my second Lexus but I decided I would never again buy a Lexus with navigation - and I am sure I am not the only one. I wrote to Lexus after buying this one and never got a response back. Next car won't be a Lexus.

I believe you can buy most models without NAV if that's what you desire. Why knock out the whole car because you don't like a feature you don't want to buy?

for import, you should stick with mb, bmw, audi, and acura

i just wonder why would you buy the car without finding out the details (one that makes you hate it so much)
