So its time for the 20K mile service on my '07 GS350. I call my local Torrance, CA dealer, and was quoted $180. When I asked what was included in this price, I was told "an oil change, tire rotation, and a number of inspections". I called 2 other dealers, located 20 and 40 miles away, and was quoted $158 and $172 respectively. Although I like the fact that the records on my car show all services performed at Lexus dealers, I'm wondering if this written pedigree is worth the cost. Is this "all services performed at Lexus dealer" record a cost effective investment at time of resale? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
i have a 06 gs 300 and every time 5k is up i go in and they charge me 139$ after tax. they give me a loaner, car wash and inspection but i thought that was the normal price. dont they use synthetic oil? which is like 90$ by itself?
Change the oil yourself if you are able. Most dealers do charge over 100$ for a synthetic oil change. I think the oil is only 30$ from what I recall changing mine a few months back.
I believe a Toyota dealership will do it (and many other things) for a lot less. I change my own oil/filter, and the SAME filter at Toyota is $3.00 less than if I bought it at Lexus.
uhh... oil changes here i believe are $30-60, depending on special, and when u get an oil change, you get tire rotation/inspection/car wash all in one visit, that's what i was told by my service advisor anyways lol
if u go to ur dealership website, u will find coupons under service for oil change and bunch other service coupons..i get my oil change for 19.99 at my dealer...
