Default Water in Headlights Common?

Just curious if anyone else has run into this problem. I went and washed my car this pass weekend and today (5 days later) i can still see moisture inside my drivers side headlight and drl lights. Not sure how it happened. I have never messed with my lights in any way to give me a reason as to how water could get in there. Anyone else ever have this problem? I will be taking the car over to the dealer to have them look at it.

i have seen moisture problem before but i won't say it's common. if moisture doesn't go away, i say bring it to dealership and see if there is any major leak

This has happen to me on my 06 gs 430 they change my headlights three times already I think that there is something wrong with the factory that is making them .I don't mind cause I get new headlights every time until they get it right . And they should change the HID box too everything should be new .

Both of mine had condensation in them but the dealer only changed one. they told me it was because i removed my splash sheilds from under my fenders. i ended up just sending both of them out and get them painted and resealed.

I had the same issue last weekend. Washed my car and the right front light got condensation in it. By the next morning it was gone, but there is obviously an issue. I am going to wash it again tomorrow, see if I get condensation, then drive it straight to the dealer if I do.

just to clarify things, having moisture is not entirely an "issue". it's possible, i do not believe the headlights are completely air sealed / tight. but it's an issue if moisture stays and do not go away

this happen to my gf's 06 is250. if you still have warrenty go to the stealership and get it replaced. it doesnt matter if it goes away or not there should not be any moisture in your headlights at all. i agree with more4my4 the sealant the factory is using is defective.

is the headlamp supposed to be air tight even when going to replace the bulb?

cuz this happens a lot on different brands of cars.

the projectors they are air tight, coz' water getting in can kill the bulbs or damage wiring. but the headlight housing isn't necessarily air tight. in fact, very likely they aren't.

that's exactly what i'm thinking

if the housing isn't airtight, there's gonna be condensation.

with the swivel lights, there's gotta be an air gap somewhere where water vapor can get in maybe

yup, you are completely right on. the design of headlights clearly have gaps around and moisture can definitely develop inside, but of course, not stay

i did a lot of study on the 2gs headlights when i owned the car. there are gaps around the headlight housing, thus why a lot of people had condensation problem. in most cases, the moisture will go away pretty fast so it's ok. but in some cases the condensation is very extensive and they don't go away, that is an issue
