Limiter on my CAR =0 !!!
I found out recently that the dealership places a limiter on the GS' decreasing the HP from 342 to 322 !!!!!!! Any idea why do some dealers do that?? I live in the Middle-East. And is there a way to remove it coz i really want my payed for 20 HP BACK

it's built into the ECU, sort of like taking fuel+air away, or timing away
it's not technically termed a limiter, not from my belief, because a limiter=stopping your car from going past 160mph, or a rev limiter= stopping your car from going past (for example) 6500RPM. I believe it's termed something else, jsut can't get it off the top of my head....
lol....20HP goes a long way, we put in hundreds, sometimes a thousand or two, in hopes of squeezing out 2-10HP right?
lol... this isn't controled by lexus in the middle east, it's more like the country's regulations&control hahaha...
take it to a reputable shop that has experience with the 3UZ-FE, and pray they can disable that "limiter" by burning new maps for ur ECU, good luck looking for it because i dont think any shops have achieved that yet (since our cars are fairly new)
EDIT: sorry, i'm retarded, why not just buy a USDM GS460 ECU and slap it on ur car? i'm pretty sure it's plug-n-play and you'll get your desired 340ish HP =]

i don't think it's that simple lol.... i think it's in the map settings of the vehicle =\ shoot....right now for us 460&430 owners... if someone had access to edit the mappings of our vehicles... we can all benefit HP-wise =[
in that case let me correct it a bit. in the US, ls460 is 380hp but gs460 is 342, there is also power difference. it sort of correspond to your 322 vs 348 over there. it is NOT something that dealership is smart enough to do, it's from manufacturer. there can be a lot of reasons behind and most of us have been guessing here too, from engine bay space to marketing etc... but in short there is no known method to get back those "lost" power
In the middle east the LS comes with the GS engine so it only has 342hp. I suspect Lexus is deliberately detuning the GS engine to create a difference (i.e. its Lexus not the dealer). Given this you could either write to Lexus and complain, or just get the US ECU which will tune it back to 342hp.
