Default Thoughts on this wheel setup please...

Saw this set of Asanti 3 piece wheels, and I love them. They are 20 x 8.5" all around, +42mm offset, and 5x4.5/5x115 bolt pattern.
Will this set up work on a 2006 GS300 AWD? I was told "yes" by the seller... I am just looking to dress up the car a lil bit, a slight drop (DF210) will also be done. I really dont want to do anything else.
What are your opinions on these wheels and how they will look on the car with the DF210 kit? I saw the wheels for $2800 (w/o tires).
Thanks for the help!

Not for me.....not a real Asanti bling bling fan. Asanti belongs on a 300C.

But that's just me....

Thanks for your thoughts Mark... is it the chrome look, or is Asanti to "main stream"? Im new to the Lex world, so im still trying to figure this all out... in Buffalo, its really a "throw the biggest wheel on you can" kind of place. I want to go with a lil more class/style on this one tho. We have no full blown "custom shops" here, and I dont think anyone has lowered their rides.

Honestly, it's up to you, which is why I stated only my opinion.

Some here on CL like Asanti, like chrome, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's your car, it's your money, so you need to be happy with the look.

I usually tell my customers who ask for my opinion would be to stay with a 19 or 20" max. I really like a nice 2 or 3 piece Japanese wheel....in silver or gunmetal color, but not a fan of chrome.

In the end it's your car and your money. Look at some examples here on this forum and you'll see some very nice examples that you can get an idea from.

Good luck and hit me back if you need help.....

Wheel choice is obviously subjective. If YOU like them, go for it! That's all that really matters. Just have fun a enjoy them!

Personally they are not my cup of tea.

That wheel is a nice design that asanti makes a lot of people have mixed feelings on Asanti's just because its what everyone else has. For some reason people from Houston call them AsHanti's and they believe there the best wheels made. Anyways its your car and u have to see it everyday so if you like them go for it.

Thanks all... I do like them, and am considering them. Looking into some Work wheels that Ice brought up to me in another thread.
How is a +42mm offset on the GS, will it be tucked in to much? When you guys refer to an "aggressive" offset, what exactly does that mean?

It wont be aggressive. Your OEM rims are +45 offset.

Have you considered staggered set up? If you see my car in the wheel thread its on DF210 springs. I am taking them off this week to go lower with springs. You can see my offsets front/rear to get an idea of what it would look like.

What Work rims are you looking at?

AWD has nothing to do with it IMO...

Ask Mr Mark he will tell you

really "aggressive" has nothing to do with it. What do you want to achieve with your rims? Do you want them flush with the fenders? do you just want "different" rims to slap on your car? Its hard to answer your question with out know what you plan to do to your car and what you want. Is there any car in the wheel thread that grabs your attn? Will you modify your fenders to allow the rims to work?

Give us an idea what you are looking to do any we can help you out.

42 will be fine. im running 8.5" with a 35mm offset.

staggered means using 2 different widths. example would be 8.5" wide for the front and 10" wide for the rear.

overall im not a fan of those wheels. i dont hate chrome wheels but there are very few that i like. i think the above wheels have too many "spokes" and i dont like how they flare out towards the lip.

again as others have said, its really up to you. if you like them then get them. your money, your car. dont mod your car for other people, mod it for what you like.

I personally think that Asanti makes pretty good quality rims, however I am just not feeling this particular set.
