Odd Brake Behavior

With 17,000 miles and the 'dustless' pads installed, the car's brakes will squeal for the first couple applications (after the car has been sitting a couple hours). Thereafter, the squealing stops (the brakes perform well). It seems as the brakes heat up, the squealing stops. With two past Toyota's (a 1981 Celica and a 1985 Cressida), just the opposite would occur. Once the pads heated up, the squealing would begin.

Anyone else have similar behavior?

i'm not 100% on this, but if you leave it outside, or in a place with plenty-o-moisture.... the brake discs will rust up, so i would figure that's where teh squeeling comes from

Guys, this might help you out!!!

The one that is currently on my toy is TSIB L-SB-0121-08;
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-brakes-2.html

Also Andy (Yang1815) found TSIB 0040-09, that would also replace the rotors.

Good luck,

Steve
