Why can't we get a nice compromise >_<

Mine are dustless and they squeak too...

I had all three types of pads on my toy: C>>>A>>B

A = HIGH-FRICTION-SUPER-DUSTER- if you like to bend-over daily, this is what you want!!!

B = DUST-FREE-SQUEALER - when braking, it feels like two slick stone grinding; did not feel safe when traveling at high speed, because not sure if it would stop in time.

C = SQUEAK-FREE-LOW-DUST - best of both world nearly no dust build-up, with closely matched performance of super-duster!!!

-Performance: A=100% / B=65~70% / C=85~95%, when comparing to each other;

-Dust: A=100% / B=5% / C=5~15%;

-Suealing: A=0% / B=90~95% / C=0%.

Personally I would recommend SQUEAK-FREE-LOW-DUST (currently wearing), just because I do like to keep my toy clean whenever is possible. With SQUEAK-FREE-LOW-DUST, dust build up in 6~8 weeks equals to 1~2 days from HIGH-FRICTION-SUPER-DUSTER!!!

I agree. I've seen many 3 series running around with black front wheels and silver rear wheels.

doc, if A/B/C are what you've experienced, than mine is D: SQUEAK-FREE-SUPER-DUSTER. Supposed to be the latest kit

slk_dds, I have been looking at aftermarket brake pads for my 2008 GS350 and I've been having a hard time finding some that I am confident they will work without squeaking. Sounds like your SQUEAK-FREE-LOW-DUST pad are probably aftermarket pads. Would you mind telling me which brake pads you are using?

Thanks,

Yup, I just called the dealer today.

1.) I first had dusty brakes.
2.) took it in and the TSB had them replaced with the Dust-free brakes.
3.) They started sqeeking like a banshee after 6 months.
4.) took it in for the Squeek TSB.
5.) Dusted up just like my orginals.
6.) Called the dealer and he says "We have a fix for that" --

With any luck, I'll never have to pay for new brakes for this car!!

yep, almost 40k on mine with new “complimentary” brakes Another good freebie trick, considering I've been getting all of my oil changes for free (the last one will be at 40k) is to open Lexus VISA. I put max deposit using it on both of my early ES350 and than GS350 replacement - you get enough Lexus credit points to last you for a ton of free oil changes

What about the rotors, when going back to the dust pads?

Sorry guys, did not see this till just now...

But here is the TSIB for "C": TSIB L-SB-0121-08;

Also Yang1815 has a new TSIB that would also replace the rotors: TSIB 0040-09.

I love my dusty brakes!!! Adds that rough look to the car. ha ha. I'm on my second set already. I don't dare to even try dustless pads and sacrifice performance.

I think you guys should all go back and get the smaller calipers from the 06 gs300....the pads never squeal, grip fine and there is no brake dust.....the brake service also does not have to involve changing out the rotors as may be the case in the gs350/430/460 ...

i was tired of dealing with the dealer with my squealing brakes. i purchased the endless sss(super street sports). experienced a little squeak a couple of times. not a high pitched squeal. nothing in comparison to the latest tsib done. brake dust is non existent. no worries with the braking ability.
