Default ughhhhh!

i traded my 08 is250awd in the end of march of 09 for my now 2006 gs300 awd. i am regreting it big time now. ever since i got it i avg 1 problem every month it seem. first the passenger side mirror had to be replaced it did not autotilt. then after they did that i had to go back because it wouldnt autodim they had to rebuy another mirror. then the lights in the front and back inside needed to be fixed. then the driver side mirror needed to be replaced, it too stop autotilting. last month the rear winshield needed to be fixed for a rattle. and now my parking sensor wont stop in the front on the passenger side and nothing is blocking it. i've had it with this car. i'm thinking of giving it back i dont care if i will be behind on money. say the resale value is 23000 for the gs300 now. will having an extended warranty raise that price at all?

and i forgot to mention everytime i need to go to lexus its a 45min drive one way there are no close dealerships around so it really hurts my day off plus the time it takes for them to service it.

sorry to hear about the problems your having. the auto tilt on the mirrors is pretty common though to break and the rattle, well pretty much everything rattles on the GS lol.

as far as your parking sensors go, they could just be dirty. try cleaning the surface of them first to see if that fixes the problem.

I've had all the above and some more except the rear wind shield and parking sensor.

- Dash rattle
- Sunroof rattle
- Side mirror not tilting.
- Clogged AC. (BIG EXPENSIVE JOB)
- And ALL the recalls. <~~ Just inconvenience, but not really affecting driving

There's times I feel like getting rid of the car too. I think its just all the the different times I've had to visit a dealer since having the car in 10/08.
The car drives great, handles decent, and it has its ups and downs.
I just hope no more problems. The valet guy stopped taking my tips last time, and said he could retire off me, If I went back anymore.

Rethink it for a bit, then decide.

the mirror is a *****.

if they replace it with the exact same part, it's just going to die again in 3 years.

i wonder if lexus even fixed the mirror. or maybe they figure once it dies after warranty, the customer will be paying for it 100% anyway, so why bother a preemptive fix....

these babies are $550 each side!

We traded our 07 IS250 AWD for an 06 GS 300 AWD and would never go back! Ours has been literally trouble free. Sorry to hear that yours has been such a pain.

I still can't believe my first Lexus ends up being the GS that has the most problems. Also, its as if Lexus gave up on the car as there is no promotion for it, I presume because of all the problems too.

Will be my last Lexus for sure. Too bad I'm stuck until 2012

I like the 3GS but it definitely feels like it's gotten the least attention from Lexus (marketing and quality). :/

too bad there is no perfect car

each brand has their own expensive problems

i would love to have a car that only needed an oil change and nothing else to be fixed.

the only problem i had with my 3GS beside the recalls was the dash rattle which they fixed the first time i took it. Its been about 10 months now and still rattle free.

Mirrors still work and tilt perfectly. Just make sure it is either on left or right. if its in the middle, the mirrors wont tilt.

sorry to hear bout te issues. I wish I could say havent has any issue with my mirrors or interior rattles as well. I just had my dash replaced but I feel like there is an issue with the insulation. I can hear the motor a little more than I did before. I am taking it back in this week for the 3rd time this month. I really hope they can get this right
