Default tint

when i had my IS250 i had the same problem with my tint. look at the orange light reflecting off of the rear window. at night when cars are behind me and thier lights hit the rear window it is alot worst. it looks ugly. does anyone else have this problem? i am beginning to think it is a lexus thing.

you don't have problem when the car is stock and no tint right? if so then how can that be a lexus problem? if anything it's probably your tint or tinting in general

i *think* i know what you talking about, are they from the rear window heating wires?

I think its the defrosting strips. Maybe ur tints not a one piece in the back and its the connecting point of the two pieces they used

it's normal

thick defroster lines cause the tint not to lay flat against the glass. so any light source behind you will scatter along the defroster line.

that happens with one piece installs and 1000 piece installs, especially if the tint is thick.

some people sand down the defroster lines before install. I don't think I'd allow that myself.

you will still have that light scatter even with darker tint.

if the tint is not pressed flat against the glass, that's what happens.

^Didnt do it in either of my Lexus...yes you can see where the defrost line are but I dont have that reflection the OP is getting. Either its too light of tint or the quality of the tint perhaps may be isnt so good? I am 35% now with no issues and was 15% on the last car.

on my is250 i had 5% and it had that problem. then i made them redo it to 20% and it is the same problem. maybe it is the tint company. i only went there because of the lifetime warranty, if i will ever need it lol. i'll have some other company redo my rear window for me and pray it works. the autodim looks nice on my side mirrors but i hate looking into the rear and see all these neon green lights all over the defroster lines.
