Default De-activating the DRL

I want to de-activate the DRLs and istall an HID kit with ballasts for the high beam. From what I understand, the simplest de-activation of the DRLs can be achieved by replacing the stock high-beam relay with another relay, Toyota part #90987-02006, which was used on a non-DRL cars.

I got the info on the Russian Lexus forum, here, if you can read Russian:

http://www.club-lexus.ru/forum/viewt...15&per_page=15

Does anybody know where the high-beam relay located on an 09 GS350?

from what i understand, the best way to de-activate them is to take the car to the dealer and have them do it. I think it is part of the personalization they can do.

Who need to flash people when you can run them off the road with a set of HID high beams

Just bring your toy to the dealership, it is part of LPS.

That is the first thing I did when I got my toy, turn the DRL off (unless your State requires to have DRL on, like Canada)!!!

No more DRL. Take it to the dealer like everyone said.

Thanks, all.

I am going in on Monday morning. While there, I will ask them to look at my dusty front brake pads, I hear there is a TSB on it.

As far as loosing ability to flash, who cares. I would much rather have HID high beems instead.

Now, has anybody done HID kits on the high beams? I see a lot of kits that include bulbs and ballasts for under $100. It it just plug-in, or some additional wiring is required?

Got my DRLs de-activated. At first they refused to do it, because it is a "safety feature". They had me call the Lexus regional HQ, and have them authorize the de-activation, which I did. Then the bastards charged me $60 for 1/2 labor, because it is not the "first time free" personalized settings setup. I bought 2 new cars from them in the last 18 months. Well, at least I got a free brake job, they put new front pads, not near as dusty as the old ones were.

I ordered an HID kit for the high beams today on ebay. Hopefully they will get here by Saturday.
