can I purchase this to play video? I have no ML or Navi

 

So instead of purchasing the PS, I can do the bypass myself by following your directions and save $300+? You've had no problems? So what type of switch are you using? Just something from RadioShack? Or is there some sort of special switch? Im kinda new at this bypass stuff, but I'm somewhat handy....I think. LOL!!

 

fantastic info.. i had the 430 with a kit.. i got the nav overide from ps.. now i want to get the vais system for my iphone.. now have ls 460 factory nav marc levinson with sat and factory dvd

questions.
1. how do you install the vais unit. after or before the ps nav override
2. want to play video off iphone so.. sl2i-v-p4 correct.
3. i have a proclip mount think that is compatible with the cable coming from the vais unit?

ok.. little confusion going on.. the spec sheet on the web for vais says not compatibale with factory dvd for the sl2vi....does the p4 fix that proplem..???

 

there is no sl2vi for the ls460 with ML. they aren't compatible. your best bet is the sl2i-up

vaistech products and ps products don't have any conflicts with each other, they don't access the same harness

 

any other products that will do a video out to the nav screen from iphone.. i thought the sl2vi-p4 would work. then told no.. then told the p1 does.. but looking like nothing for this car with the factory dvd on ML> what happens with the unit.. in other words what does not work.. I was told no audio..problem with audio.

i know i can do product that will allow rcs cables inputs into the nav screeen with fm transmittor but that would defeat the ipod controll purpose i am looking for...

will just keep looking..

seems like you have the ls460 with ml, in that case no video ipod kit available for your car they only have a setup to play audio files from the ipod

it indeed defeat the purpose if you use rca to do video and another means to do audio. i can't understand what's so different about this particular car config (the lx570 with ml is just fine)...

 

yep.. that is what i again heard. guys at ps really helpfull. this is just crazy.. really would like to now why this unit does not work.. what is so special about the ML on the 2008 ls 460

i have the navi bypass , where i cut a wire or 2 in the back of my navi and made a switch so i can flip it while my car is in motion and i can use my navi functions and what not...
so my question is if i want to get the viastech video ipod unit so i can play videos on my screen will i still need the Prestigous Society bypass unit { i did a search for Prestigous Society bypass and i cant find any info on it**
also my car is non -ML
