When i purchased my 07 Lexus 350 with ML i notice in the arm lower compartment in the center console it had this Isimple interface that looked like it would connect with iphone/ipod but never paid attention to it. Just recently got an iphone, so i tried hooking it up to see if it will play music, but no luck! does anybody have this installed on their GS and know how to work this? currently i am just using it as a car charger lol
I have a second gen iPod touch. When apple decided to be more productivity and multiple tasking onscious, I think after version 3.2, the I simple interface was no longer compatible. I was getting that type of message after upgrading the iPod touch software and had to roll back the O/S. There was a chip you could purchase and then update firmware but you have to remove the isimple interface to do it and then reinstall it. I had only had mine in my GS and ES for maybe 5-6 months when this occurred and I wa pissed that TSS radio was no help in getting me the free chip. I also would have had to pay for the R&R in both cars. While this maynot have been the fault of the isimple company, I was still pissed off.
okay i just finished installing my iSimple that i've had sitting around for ages now. When i first installed it, it was not working correctly. The radio would not switch over to AUX/SAT. In the instructions for the iSimple it tells you not to mess with the switches unless you drive a 2010 Camry....well..... you have to mess with the switches for the 2007 GS350 AWD w/ML. If you flip the first switch (1) to on, the iSimple will work. The only down side I'm experiencing with my iSimple is that there is a lag for the first minute or so when you turn on your car. You cannot change the stations and the volume is locked in which can be VERY annoying.
