back up sensor issue

Hey I have recently been having a problem with my back up sensor only. Only when I put my car in reverse and begin to back up my sensor lights up red and steadily beeps. I have had the car a month now. I bough it used. This just started happening. All the other other sensors seems to work with no issues. I was curious if their is a way to reset or re-calibrate. I went to lexus and they wanted me to drop off the car and I just didnt want to drive around in a loaner. I thought they could just look for me, but I was wrong!!! Any help is much appreciated.

Ps. I have ML Nav w/ backup camera

I guess if you do not want to drive around in a loaner you should just take it into the dealer and wait there........it should be a quick check up.

Mine does this occasionally also. I asked the dealer when I was there and of course there was no issue. Its minor and seems to do it in my driveway when its cold out. I dont know if its the incline of my driveway or the cold weather. That seems to be the only spot so I havent worried about it.

Where is yours doing it? Is it consistent at all? I seem to have the common L side mirror want to not raise after lowering in reverse and the sensor going off with nothing there

Unfortunately it has beeen consistent now whenever I put the car in reverse. Its a little nerve racking at first but now its just damn annoying!! I guess I will have to suck it up and bring it to the dealer.

I've had this happen to me on two occasions now. Both times, it was a bad sensor that had to be replaced. Different sensor locations each time, so they do fail on occasion. Bad thing is that it is not a part that most dealers keep in stock so it usually takes a day or two for the part to come in.
