Default Brake pads replacement

Has been charged $720 for the front and rear brake pads replacement and rotors polishing.

Is that how it costs?

What kind of car do you have? If it's just a regular GS, then the pads for all 4 wheels are around $150, turning the rotors are about $15-20 a piece. Labor shoudn't be more than about 2 hrs.

You've been had. Have you considered asking for the cost upfront?

Actually I just called around and got quotes ranging from $420 to $475 per axle so it turned out that I had the best price in the Bay Area, CA!
