my ML dvd/cd player skips almost every CD i put in it. What can i do to fix this peice! lexus always tells me they cant find any problems with it. ARG.
anyone else have this problem?

yeah are they cdr? if so, tougher luck. if you have that problems with original cds then you have a better case

also, if you say they keep on skpping, can't you demostrate the issues right at the dealership with the service manager?

 

actually they are happening on both. its just random cd's both original and cd-r. its weird because i make cd-r's one after another and one will work fine and one will skip like crazy weird

 

I have not had any skipping at all with originals or cdr. If it's frequently skipping the dealer should be able to duplicate the problem

 

My CD player actually stopped playing all together last month. I reported the problem to my dealer and they replaced unit with a new one. Although I haven't received any of my cd's back yet. But as everyone else have been saying, if it's continuing to skip just show the problem to the dealer and they should fix that without hesitation.

 

Mine plays CD-R just fine... Did you let the dealer hear the skips?

 

yeah they said that im using crappy quality cds. they are just normal memorex cd-rs

 

take it back and tell them that you want the cd player replaced. I tell them that I dont care if they cant reproduce it. I wouldnt be there unless there was a problem. Tell them its intermittant

burn your cds in a slower speed and try different brand of cds would be the first thing I would try

 

since you say it happens with some original cds, take a couple of those in and demonstrate. shouldn't be any question about replacing the player.

 

memorex isn't crappy at all, probably something wrong with ur unit

like everyone else said, find the worst offender cd, then show it to them, make sure it's an original and not all scratched up
