Default Anyone else experiencing this problem ?

Ok, this has started happening the last month or so... Every time I start my car and put it in reverse I hear a clunking noise... Then when I put the car in drive and release my foot off the break I hear another clunking noise ? I have no idea what it is has anyone else experienced this or no what the problem is ?

maybe you have transmission problem.

is your driveway sloped? or do you park on level ground?

does it happen during the day too?

I have a similar clunk/clicking noise which I've isolated down to being the front brake pads shifting. Could that be yours - maybe? Anyone else get front clicking/clunk noise from pads? Seems odd to me the pads would move that much as I've never had it happen in any of my other cars.

if you google clunking, it says it could be the steering column.

i remember i had clunking in my old car before. it was either the steering column or the suspension.

just get it fixed. it's not normal if you didn't here it on day 1.

LOL

I heard a clunking noise from reverse to drive for a whole year and my local Lexus dealership said all was fine "its normal!"

One day after I ate Mc Donalds I had no reverse and had to push the GS350 back lol and soon after that my 3rd gear would not engage!

So they gave me a new tranny under warranty at 32,000 miles! My driveway is a slope and I used to put the car in drive while it was rolling back never noticed but now I stop the car and put it in reverse! After the tranny swap the car is very smooth and no more clunking been 3,000 miles so far!

Don't worry about it but have your dealership take a note of the problem and once you see 3rd gear slip between 4,000-5,500rpm your tranny has a serious problem!

Well, if you are rolling in reverse and shift into drive without stopping, especially in a cold transmission, you do this over and over again, what do you think will happen to your transmission?

ReyRey, if the clunk stop after the 1st shift out of the driveway, then its your barkes shifting. Acura had this problem for years b 4 they put out a TSB.

Damn i think this is happening to my car because I have experienced my gear slipping a little bit... It feels like someone didn't shift the gears right...
