i dont like the color of the puddle lights on driver and passenger side mirrors and i wanna change them. does anyone know how or have a diagram how to take apart the mirrors? thanks!

aren't the 3GS puddle lights already L.E.D's?

I've seen the ES350 puddle lights and they look like they have filament bulbs. They look a lot different then ours.

 

I believe they are LEDs.
The light seems whiter and brighter than the puddles on my IS.

I have an 06 and they are not sharp enough for LED's. Just compare the light of your side mirror to your interior or trunk leds, totally different.

 

Can anyone confrim if the puddles lights are LED or not?

You might as well start hacking.If it's yellow,it's not a LED.
I would think the fade out will be different with LEDs.
Therefore,I don't think the GS has LEDs but the light is whiter than my '06 IS puddles were and look good enough to me..

The Lexus owner's manual have no information on this at all. Joe is right though, I dont think you can dim LEDs.

 

When I added signal mirror covers on my IS,I put a set of MTEC Superwhite 194.

Much better than the stock yellow.

 

ok, i got confirmation. the bulb is a 194..not led.

 

i disected the 2008 mirror. ill post up a DIY thread.
