Default Door Speaker problems ? (ML package)

Any one have issues with the door speakers rattling like crazy ? I took it to the dealership thinking it was a loose clip in the door or something. I guess I was wrong, they said they had to order a new speaker for my right passenger door. It did not sound like the speaker was blown, more like a loose piece of plastic rattling around... I have the ML speaker package, I don't understand how it would be blown if I barley turn up the volume... I also turn down the bass a little because I thought that was causing the rattling noise. I still think its something else...

the speaker does not have to be blown to have something loose. if part of the speaker is defective or was not installed right, it will be replaced

It is probably the wood trim not the speaker, my speaker was replaced as well for the same issue and this did not fix the issue. I took the door panel off and insulated the wood trimming from behind and that fixed it.

I even told them to look specifically at the wood trim area but they ended up saying it was a bad speaker... I hope this will fix it =(

Well, if you get the rattle going on a praticular track, go press firmly on the lower edge of the wood trip along the arm rest, see what that does...that should not alleviate a speaker issue in any way since the speaker is lower and more forward.

I second this. My passenger door rattles with certain bass frequencies. I've isolated it to the automatic window switch sitting in the middle of the wood trim. Try pushing around on different door panel and arm-rest parts to isolate the noise while you're playing loud music. I personally think the GS door panels are WAY too noisy. I can push on any number of spots and illicit a sqeek. Was in a Toyota truck the other day, and couldn't get a peep out of the door panels. Sux.

I agree, I can also push a number of diff panels on the door and get all kind of squeaks and rattles from it. I did not have this problem with my old GX and RX.

This probably isn't it but I noticed if my "speakers" start to rattle when I turn the music up, sometimes it's due to the fact that I have items in the side panel/compartment. Often times, i might drop a few pens in there, coins, or just random items in that side compartment and if I turn the music up it sounds like the speakers are rattling, but it's just the items rattling/vibrating from the loud music.
