Default Hit while parked, is it totaled?

Car was parked on the street outside my brothers house Saturday night. Mazda comes down street, bangs into Mercury SUV which climbs onto my car.

This sucks, I've only had the car for 2 months. I'll see what the insurance says.

What do you guys think, is it a total loss?
Will it be the same if not a total loss and fixed?

Thanks

Nah!
The cost to repair must be at least 75% of the cars value.

As far as will if be the same after it's fixed?
Depends on the shop.

I don't like owning a car after a repair like that.It just bothers me unless the shop does a perfect repair and even then..

I know, Its going to pretty good shop here in Boston (Stadium Auto Body in Brighton). Don't have any choice but to fix it and live with it unless its totaled.

It's not too bad. It might look bad, but the good thing is that most shops will have to buy genuine Lexus panels and parts, so everything should be great when you're done.

Look at it this way, if you had any big marks, the new bumper, hood, and fenders with new paint will look great!

That is brutal!

I see you had your mirrors folded in to protect against damage...

I think a good shop can get that back to right for you. The damage is certainly deep, but it doesn't look like it's anything that would affect ride. Or is there something that the pictures don't show? It looks like all of your seams and gaps are still lined up.

And what was the guy in the Mazda doing anyway? DUI, fell asleep, racing, running from the police?

Yeah, like the guys said above ^^ I doubt its totaled.

I hate to see things like this happen to ppl that take care/love their cars. Just make sure you take it to a reputable shop for the repair, cause you do have the first say on who repairs your car.

DUI or high as the sky! Either way he didn't stick around. I tried getting his license info and he got violent with me. Had no choice but to let him walk away since the cops took a long time to get there. He kept trying to start his car and take off, luckily it wouldn't start!

Yea, I heard you can't get aftermarket parts.

My car has a bunch of rock chips all over front bumper/hood. I guess my next mod after repair will be a clear bra!

Didn't stick around??? Now that's f'd up.

Do you know that the car wasn't stolen?

And gotta know - Was that the Mazda driver's hat on the ground? It looks like he at least got some punishment from whacking his head on the windshield. His head and neck have to be feeling like chit.

damn. that sucks. but it looks like the damage is not too severe. maybe $12000.

man. lessons learned:

leave a nice buffer between parked cars
bust out cell phone and get license plates.
carry 10000v taser and prepare to taser the biotch if he tries to run.

These irresponsible hit n run people deserve a beat down, or a temp paralysis.
of course it makes it harder because it's in front of your house and he knows where you live.....

+1 on it not being totaled. camera phones are useful in this kind of situation if you can. when you get your car back, you're going to be excited. before you leave the shop, take a good look at the seams and gaps and so on. take the time to really look close. if you use a reputable dealer as others have said it should be fine but take the time to look closely right off the bat. good luck.
