Question Drilled/Slotted OEM Sized Rotors?

This was/is a very popular mod on the 2GS forums, for those that don't require a BBK but would like the dimples/slots. Does no one offer this?

i never spent much time to look for these, but i don't recall reading many people with these. my opinion though, if it's stock brakes, just get some good brembo blanks

The factory 3GS brakes are plenty good enough without the need for cross drill or slots in the rotors.

that's mostly for cosmetic anyway. changing rotors (no matter what rotors) won't make the car stop faster on any cars

if my rotors need replacement, i'll just get the brembo replacement rotors, i am sure it's much cheaper than the OEM ones and plus, it looks much better anyway

that's what i did on my old car

Drilled and slotted rotors do help dissipating heat quicker therefore improve the braking performance.

That is only true for racing cars. How much racing are you doing in your GS? Slotted rotors might be better in the long term due to less tendency to warp (due to better heat dissipation). But drilled rotors are actually way worse than solid Lexus OEM rotors because they tend to crack quite frequently.

They crack under extreme heat

i can't say for sure about lexus parts, but all i know is, lexus oem parts are super expensive

OEM ones for my bmw were about 600 bucks, I got the brembo replacement rotors for 450

and those cross drilled critics, do you even have personal experience with them? to say they crack under extreme heat is like saying your car will stall if you don't warm up. Manufacturing techniques have gone way up and every single exotic cars with cross drilled rotors are going to crack ... right..

^ ^ finally a objective opinion.

When I say "Drilled and slotted rotors do help dissipating heat quicker therefore improve the braking performance." simply based on the fact (or the goal to achieve by the manufacture). I did not say that they are better than Lexus OEM's nor they won't crack.
