Default VSC and Check Engine

Ive read quite a few threads regarding these dash alarms. They all seem to be pretty serious. I could be wrong, but they all seem similar. Ive seen threads in the IS, GS, and RX forums. Some people have their theories about sensors and gas caps. Some people say its the ECU. I think they are right.

Im not sure, but i think the people blaming the ECU is correct. Each thread involves a different car, and the only commonality is the software (if it is in fact the software or ECU).

I am now having the same problem. I live in Virginia. My car has been through the two winter seasons. My commute is about 13 miles one way. Recently ive been driving a commuter car. So the Lexus just sits.

From what ive read, i have all the symptoms and causes for this problem. Ive only read a few of these threads, since they all are saying basically the same thing.

Does anyone have any input? How many times do i have to take my car to the dealership to have them recognize this as a lemon? Let me know.

My car had a low brake level and it caused the computers to freak out.
A little added oil and everything is A-OK!!!

VSC and Check Engine light can mean anything from a emission system failure to a VSC sensor. The best thing to do is to go somewhere and try to pull out a error code, otherwise, the dealer cant do anything for you.

Ok, so i got my car back about a week ago. The dealer had it for almost two days, before they gave it back. They said they replaced my gas cap. Now that i have it back, im noticing my average mpg is 16.6 at best. Before they put their hands on my car, i averaged almost 22 mpg. I find it hard to believe that they only replaced my gas cap. To me, this is unacceptable, especially during these times of high gas prices.

Do you guys think they reprogrammed my ECU?
